Shareholders, SATC 2, and TGIF.

In case you aren’t aware of what’s going on in NWA this week, it’s Walmart’s annual shareholders’ meeting time. And in case you really didn't know, Walmart is headquartered in NWA. We're lucky to have three giant companies in this area (Walmart, J.B. Hunt Transport Services and Tyson Foods). This brings vendors and tons of other jobs. There are several other large companies, too. George's Farms Inc., Harp's Food Stores, and more. This picture shows some of the Fortune 500 companies with operations in our area:

And here are a few of the “famous” people who’ve made an appearance in our little neck of the woods this week:

  • Mariah Carey
  • Jamie Foxx
  • The new American Idol winner…what’s his name?
  • The Zach Brown Band
  • Tim McGraw
  • Enrique Iglesias
  • REO Speedwagon
  • Barenaked Ladies
  • Mary J. Blige
And I’m sure there are plenty I’ve left off.

My weekend agenda
  • Junior League leadership meeting tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. at Arvest Ballpark.
  • Heading to the lake after the meeting.
  • And who knows what else. The regional college baseball tournament is in town, so we might do that tonight. And there is a fair. I love fairs.

SATC 2
Well…it was funny. But the first one was better. Charlotte was my favorite. Dear SJP: Please stop telling people your game for a third one. WE (those who grew up with these women and love them dearly) can’t take it.

Happy Friday, ya'll!
