Diamonds and pumpkins

Diamonds are a girl's best friend, right? Well, I want a 507 carat friend...Petra Diamonds discovered this enormous 507.55 carat monstrosity in South Africa last Thursday. How big is that? Take a look at the photo to see. That's a little bigger than the diamonds we find here in Arkansas. I mean...can you imagine that as a piece of jewelry? It makes me laugh.

The diamond weights just over 100 grams, and initial examinations of the diamond show it to be of exceptional color and clarity. What do you do with a diamond that big? For Petra Diamonds, a company that is experiencing firsthand the poor economy, it could be a game changer.

I like sparkly things, which is why when I had to decorate a table for my Junior League new member meeting I obviously got sparkly pumpkins. I signed up for the pumpkin table even though I don't own any fall decorations. I know! For someone who loves fall, I'm just not in to cheesy decor. However, my pumpkins are fabulous.

For our new member meetings, we have been displaced due to building renovations, so we have to find different location each time. This month, it was a junior high classroom. We were able to make the best of our bland room with our fall themed decor. Oh, I made pumpkin cupcakes as well. Straight from the box.
