Freak accident

While I was watching the Today show this morning, I heard about a freak accident that happened Tuesday in Omaha, Nebraska. For some reason, it made me incredibly sad. I don’t know if it’s because this woman is close to my age or because she seemed so familiar.

Married in October, this woman’s family now has to plan her funeral. I can’t imagine their pain. The 28-year-old newlywed was hit by a snowplow in her apartment complex. It reminds me to be thankful for every minute and for everyone around me because everything can change in a second. People always tell you life is short, but it’s hard to really understand just how short.

The holidays are a time to be joyful and thankful for your life, but it’s also a time to remember and reach out to those who are not as fortunate.
