So, after the game Saturday, Adam and I went to eat dinner at our friend Dave's restaurant/bar. The whole time, I see these people rushing around in "bridesmaid dresses" and a girl with a tiara and some sort of white slip on. We were having a good time, enjoying watching football on the big projection screen, when a guy comes over the microphone and says they're going to turn off the game because there's going to be a wedding. No lie. At this moment, Boyz II Men starts playing...
The best part is, Adam and I were sitting in the middle of the restaurant because we wanted a perfect view of the screen over the stage (yes, there's a stage...where bands are supposed to play). Some of the family members sat at the table with us when it was time for the wedding to start. One nicely dressed lady turned around and said to us, "This is just as awkward for us as it is for you." I couldn't control the laughter. We're drinking beer and they're on stage reading scripture. Yes, it was a religious wedding. I could go on and on about all the ridiculous stuff that happened, but I think you get the point. The "bride" was in the bathroom once when I went, and she was complaining about everything...all the people...the football game...her fake flowers...
Apparently, one of the owners didn't realize it was a home game when he agreed to this. I'm not one to judge two people who are in love and want to get married, but if you want a religious, intimate wedding...is a restaurant/bar named Razor's Reef Grill and Cantina really the best place to have your first father/daughter dance to Butterfly Kisses while people who have no idea who you are can't help but laugh at how crazy this is because by this time Adam's convinced them to turn the Florida/LSU game on? I think not.
Oh...as you can see, I took photos. Adam said people were going to think I was part of the wedding. I just laughed.
P.S. One of the flower girls caught the "bouquet."
