Five things on my mind. Go.

1. It is snowing outside, but I’m at work. I should be at home on the couch by the fire.

2. Go see Country Strong. It’s wonderful. And the music is fantastic. I promptly bought the soundtrack after seeing the movie.

3. I made the best chili last night. Secret ingredients: Boulevard Pale Ale and sugar (used during the process of cooking the garlic, celery, green pepper, onion and jalapeno).

4. I made Paula Deen’s flourless peanut butter cookies last night. If you like peanut butter, you’ll love these. The boy is sick, so I thought cookies might help. Although, I think I’m the only one who ate one …
My cookies would look just like this if I put them in a basket. I promise.

5. I’m moved by the words of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ brother-in-law, Scott Kelly, space station commander:

"We have a unique vantage point here aboard the International Space Station," he said. "As I look out the window, I see a very beautiful planet that seems very inviting and peaceful. Unfortunately, it is not."

"These days, we are constantly reminded of the unspeakable acts of violence and damage we can inflict upon one another, not just with our actions, but also with our irresponsible words," he said.

"We're better than this. We must do better."
